"You are not performing a beauty routine. You are having a relationship with your body."

You don't need an hour. You don't need a bathtub full of rose petals or a meditation teacher or a dedicated wellness room. You need five minutes, a few beautiful products, and the decision — made once, committed to daily — that your body deserves your attention.

What follows is the most stripped-down, most accessible, most effective version of the Mermaid Soul ritual. It asks very little of your time and gives quite a lot in return.

The Setup (30 Seconds)

Place your products where you'll actually use them — on the counter beside your sink or on a shelf in your shower. Seeing them matters. The visual cue of beautiful products in your space is a reminder and an invitation every time you pass. Chaos produces shortcuts. A thoughtful setup produces ritual.

Light a candle if you have one. Not because it's necessary, but because a single point of warm light in a bathroom changes the entire sensory register of the space. It takes one second and it makes everything feel more intentional.

The Shower (Two Minutes)

Turn the water to warm — not hot. Apply the Mermaid Soul Body Wash. Breathe it in. The ocean botanical scent is the opening note of the ritual, the signal to your brain that a specific kind of experience is beginning. As you lather, move your hands with slightly more intention than usual — not a massage, just a touch that is aware of itself. The difference between cleaning your body and being present in your body is purely one of attention.

Rinse. Turn it slightly cooler for the last 20 seconds if you're doing this in the evening — the mild temperature drop signals the body to begin its descent toward sleep.

The Spray (30 Seconds)

Step out. Leave your skin slightly damp. Mist the After Sun Spray over your shoulders, chest, arms, and legs — anywhere that sees sun or needs hydration. Three or four seconds of light misting. Let it settle.

The Oil or Butter (Two Minutes)

This is the heart of the ritual — the two minutes that everything else is in service of.

Take the Body Butter or the Body Oil in your hands. Warm it. Then apply it to your body with the kind of care you would give anything you genuinely love. Begin at your feet — press your thumbs into the arch, wrap your hands around your heel. Move up your calves, your shins. Over your knees. Your thighs. Your stomach. Your sides.

Notice what's tight. Notice where the warmth feels welcome and where it feels like a relief. You are not performing a beauty routine. You are having a relationship with your body.

Five minutes. The same five minutes you might otherwise spend scrolling on your phone. In exchange, you will have skin that is genuinely better cared for, a nervous system that has been given a meaningful signal to downregulate, and a sense — quiet but real — that you gave yourself something today. That's not nothing. It's actually quite a lot.
